HE IS THE THIRD PERSON
OF THE HOLY TRINITY

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

HE IS GOD

For who knows a person’s thoughts except the
spirit of that person, which is in him? So also
no one comprehends the thoughts of God
except the Spirit of God. 1^st Corinthians 2:11

HE IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went
up from the water, and behold, the heavens were
opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending
like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a
voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son,
with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16

HE IS A PERSON

And you became followers of us and of the Lord,
having received the word in much affliction,
with joy of the Holy Spirit. 1^st Thessalonians 1:6

HE HAS EXISTED SINCE TIME BEGAN

The earth was without form and void, and darkness
was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God
was hovering over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2

For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the
things that are made, even His eternal power and
Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20

HE IS THE AUTHOR OF ALL SCRIPTURE

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in
righteousness, that the man of God may be competent,
equipped for every good work. 2^nd Timothy 3:16

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of
any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by
the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2^nd Peter 1:20

You search the Scriptures because you think
that in them you have eternal life; and it is
they that bear witness about me. John 5:39

For this reason we also thank God
without ceasing, because when you
received the word of God which you
heard from us, you welcomed it not as
the word of men, but as it is in truth, the
word of God, which also effectively works
in you who believe. 1^st Thessalonians 2:13

HE IS TRUTH AND FREEDOM

And you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free. John 8:32

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and
where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is freedom. 2^nd Corinthians 3:17

And we impart this in words not taught
by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit,
interpreting spiritual truths to those who
are spiritual. 1^st Corinthians 2:13

When the Spirit of truth comes, he
will guide you into all the truth, for
he will not speak on his own authority,
but whatever he hears he will speak,
and he will declare to you the things
that are to come. John 16:13

HE GIVES LIFE

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits
nothing. The words that I speak to you are
spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

And the angel answered her, The Holy Spirit will
come upon you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will
be called holy, the Son of God. Luke 1:35

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way.
When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph,
before they came together she was found to be with
child from the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:18

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath
of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to
the woman and said to her, “Indeed now,
you are barren and have borne no children,
but you shall conceive and bear a son. Judges 13:3

HE TAKES LIFE

And if anyone’s name was not found
written in the book of life, he was thrown
into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will
come forth, separate the wicked from among the
just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There
will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:49

HE IS GOD’S PROSECUTOR

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your
advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away,
the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will
send him to you. And when he comes, he
will convict the world concerning sin and
righteousness and judgment: John 16:7

HE IS A GIFT FROM GOD

And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for
the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive
the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the
Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?
You are not your own. 1^st Corinthians 6:19

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s
love has been poured into our hearts through the
Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:5

And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his
Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Galatians 4:6

HE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN OUR LIFE

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the
love of God and the fellowship of the Holy
Spirit be with you all. 2^nd Corinthians 13:14

He who has prepared us for this very
thing is God, who has given us the
Spirit as a guarantee. 2^nd Corinthians 5:5

HE RESIDES WITHIN US

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will
put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone
from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will
put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my
statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Ezekiel 36:26

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that
God’s Spirit dwells in you? 1^st Corinthians 3:16

WE ARE SEALED BY HIM

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were
sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you
were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
And who has also put his seal on us and given us his
Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2^nd Corinthians 1:22

WE LIVE IN THE SUPERNATURAL THROUGH HIM

These things God has revealed to us through
the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything,
even the depths of God. 1^st Corinthians 2:10

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead
dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the
dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through
his Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear
its sound, but you do not know where it comes
from or where it goes. So it is with everyone
who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

If we live in the Spirit, let us also
walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

HE USES GOD’S WORD TO CHANGE US

Since you have been born again,
not of perishable seed but of
imperishable, through the living
and abiding word of God. 1^st John 1:23

To be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles
in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so
that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable,
sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:16

I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord,
according to Your word. Psalms 119:107

Sanctify them in the truth;
your word is truth. John 17:17

HE MAKES US A NEW CREATION

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation. The old has passed away;
behold, the new has come. 2^nd Corinthians 5:17

And have put on the new self, which is
being renewed in knowledge after the
image of its creator. Colossians 3:10

WE ARE REGENERATED BY HIM

He saved us, not because of works done by us in
righteousness, but according to his own mercy,
by the washing of regeneration and renewal of
the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly
through Jesus Christ our Savior. Titus 3:5

For it is God who works in you, both to will and
to work for his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13

HE SANCTIFIES US

Keep my statutes and do them; I am the
Lord who sanctifies you. Leviticus 20:8

And such were some of you. But
you were washed, you were sanctified,
you were justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of
our God. 1^st Corinthians 6:11

For this is the will of God, your
sanctification: that you abstain from
sexual immorality. 1^st Thessalonians 4:3

For by a single offering he has
perfected for all time those who are
being sanctified. Hebrews 10:14

HE TEACHES US RIGHTEOUSNESS

And do not get drunk with wine, for
that is debauchery, but be filled
with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18

But the anointing that you received from
him abides in you, and you have no need
that anyone should teach you. But as his
anointing teaches you about everything,
and is true, and is no lie, just as it has
taught you, abide in him. 1^st John 2:27

For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the
hope of righteousness by faith. Galatians 5:5

HE RENEWS OUR MIND AND HEART

Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of
your mind, that by testing you may discern
what is the will of God, what is good and
acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self
is wasting away, our inner self is being
renewed day by day. 2^nd Corinthians 4:16

And to be renewed in the spirit
of  your minds. Ephesians 4:23

Cast away from you all the transgressions that
you have committed, and make yourselves a
new heart and a new spirit! Ezekiel 18:31

HE CHANGES OUR NATURE

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory
of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image
from one degree of glory to another. For this comes
from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2^nd Corinthians 3:18

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning,
for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on
sinning because he has been born of God. 1^st John 3:9

HE LEADS US

And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit,
returned from the Jordan and was led
by the Spirit in the wilderness Luke 4:1

For all who are led by the Spirit of
God are sons of God. Romans 8:14

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

HE GUIDES OUR LIFE

Your word is a lamp to my feet and
a light to my path. Psalms 119:105

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalms 32:8

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the
right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

HE WORKS AHEAD OF US

And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you.
He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake
you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will
fight for you, according to all He did for you in
Egypt before your eyes. Deuteronomy 1:30

For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight;
For the Lord will go before you, And the God of
Israel will be your rear guard. Isaiah 52:12

HE MAKES OUR PATHS STRAIGHT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on
your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge
him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way. Psalms 119:37

HE IS OUR HELPER

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in my name, he will teach
you all things and bring to your remembrance
all that I have said to you. John 14:26

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you
another Helper, to be with you forever, even the
Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,
because it neither sees him nor knows him.
You know him, for he dwells with you and
will be in you. John 14:15

But when the Helper comes, whom I will
send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth,
who proceeds from the Father, he will bear
witness about me. John 15:26

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you
another Helper, to be with you forever. John 14:16

HE WILL TELL YOU WHAT TO DO AND SAY

For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very
hour what you ought to say. Luke 12:11

For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your
Father speaking through you. Matthew 10:20

Now He who searches the hearts knows
what the mind of the Spirit is, because
He makes intercession for the saints
according to the will of God. Galatians 5:22

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and
the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the
Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. Acts 16:6

HE IS OUR WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the
Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of
knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2

And have put on the new self, which is
being renewed in knowledge after the
image of its creator. Colossians 3:10

Think over what I say, for the Lord will give
you understanding in everything. 2^nd Timothy 2:7

HE GIVES US ANSWERS TO THE UNKNOWN

And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions, and your
old men shall dream dreams; even on my male
servants and female servants in those days I will
pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. Acts 2:17

Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit who is from God, that
we might know the things that have been
freely given to us by God. 1^st Corinthians 2:12

HE GIVES US HIS GIFTS

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control; against such things
there is no law. Galatians 5:22

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses
in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power
and love and self-control. 2^nd Timothy 1:7

And they were all filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak in other tongues
as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

HE IS OUR PROTECTOR

If you are insulted for the name of Christ,
you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory
and of God rests upon you. 1^st Peter 4:14

We know that everyone who has been born
of God does not keep on sinning, but he
who was born of God protects him, and the
evil one does not touch him. 1^st John 5:18

The name of the Lord is a strong
tower; the righteous man runs into
it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

HE HELPS US PRAY

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For we do not know what to pray for as we ought,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with
groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26

And when they had prayed, the place in which they
were gathered together was shaken, and they were
all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak
the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31

HE HELPS US TESTIFY THE GOSPEL

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has
anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
those who are oppressed. Luke 4:18

Who has made us competent to be ministers of a new
covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter
kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2^nd Corinthians 3:6

HE IS GIVEN ONLY TO TRUE BELIEVERS

And we are witnesses to these things,
and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has
given to those who obey him. Acts 5:32

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit
that we are children of God. Romans 8:16

You, however, are not in the flesh but in
the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells
in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit
of Christ does not belong to him. Romans 8:9

But the natural man does not receive the things
of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to
him, nor can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. 1st Corinthians 2:14
